About me

Jan Valls

I’m Jan — a sound engineer, musician, and graduate in Sonology from ESMUC. I’m passionate about music and love immersing myself in a wide variety of styles and genres. This diversity allows me to understand their unique sonic aesthetics and later apply techniques or textures from one style to another.

The projects I enjoy most are those with a clear purpose — whether it’s to move the listener, make people dance, tell a story, or surprise the audience — because it gives me a focus to enhance through sound.

Most of my professional time is devoted to music post-production — mixing and mastering — although I also love recording, producing, and doing live sound for performances that require a creative technical approach.

Alongside my studio work, I teach recording, mixing, mastering, and production in the Bachelor’s Degree in Music Production for the Entertainment Industry at ENTI-UB.
