The Studio
Tasso
Located in the center of Barcelona, Tasso is a shared workspace that brings together three studios: Tasso-F (run by Ferran Conangla), Tasso-E (by Enric Giné), and Tasso-J, mine. We share a kitchen, a meeting room, and two terraces — one shaded and one sunny — perfect spots to step out and clear the mind. Each studio has its own size and setup, tailored to the needs of each engineer.
Tasso-J is a medium-sized room with very controlled acoustics, designed by Sergi Soler (Àurea Acústica). It features ATC SCM-25 Pro MK2 monitors with an ATC SC-70 Pro sub, ideal for hearing every subtle detail while still enjoying the full musical experience. For signal processing, the studio includes an SSL summing mixer, SSL Bus Compressor, Millennia NESQ-2 Fred Forsell mod EQ, and a Heritage equalizer in the Neve style.
For recording, the studio is equipped with a variety of preamps and microphones, suitable for vocals, guitars, and other small-scale instruments.
Most importantly, the room is warm and inviting, with wooden diffusers, soft lighting, and all the comforts that make the process of creating a record truly enjoyable.
